WSU 19 better than EWU

Washington State handled Eastern Washington 88-69 in a game that involved a trip of northern California talents. WSU led 39-20 at the half.


For the victors, frosh Richard (Bishop O'Dowd) Longrus (now with a first name/nickname listed as Junior) totaled five rebounds, four points and two blocked shots in 13 minutes of action.

Ivan Dorsey sxored seven points in 21 minutes for EWU. Collin Chiverton played just six minutes, scoring three points.

Colin Chiverton and Ivan Dorsey updates

Eastern Washington blitzed Concordia of Oregon 96-70 on Sunday. Nor Cal-er and senior Collin Chiverton totaled 18 points and four boards in 10 minutes while newcomer CCSF transfer Ivan Dorsey added five points also in 10 minutes of play.

EWU Head Coach on Ivan Dorsey

Eastern Washington Coach Jim Hayford describing new shooting guard Ivan Dorsey:
Dorsey was a first team All-State player as a sophomore at City College of San Francisco, averaging 12.9 points per game while making 64-of-137 3-point shots (46.7 percent). He and EWU teammates Collin Chiverton and Garrett Moon helped CCSF to the 2010-11 California Community Colleges Athletic Association title, as Dorsey was on the winning end of 54 of 59 games in junior college.

“Ivan can score – he’s a great shooter,” Hayford said. “I’ve had several junior college coaches say he was the best shooter in California junior college basketball last season. That was something we couldn’t count on night-in, night-out from that position last year, and that’s why we recruited him..."

Chiverton & Dorsey in Canada

Eastern Washington heads to Canada for some basketball games. That means a now-healthy Collin (Archbishop Mitty) Chiverton and CCSF transfer newcomer Ivan (Archbishop Riordan) Dorsey will be displaying their talents up north. Will Chiverton be in the running for Big Sky Conference MVP this season?

Ivan Dorsey to Eastern Washington

For Riordan High guard, now City College of San Francisco backcourter Ivan Dorsey has landed a scholarship to Eastern Washington University, a member of the Big Sky Conference.
