Pappageorge contributes tio a win

Host Long Beach State handled Cal State Northridge last night 78-69 with former Burlingame High backcourter Peter Pappageorge contributing eight points and four assists in 27 minutes of play for the 49ers.

LB State falls but Pappageorge stars

Host Syracuse, as expected, had no trouble with Long Beach State to the tune of 84-53. But 49er Peter Pappageorge had 11 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Pappageorge leads Long Beach State

Peter (Burlingame High/Cañada College) Pappageorge scored a team-leading 23 points to lead Long Beach State to a 69-61 Sunday victory over host Fresno State on Sunday. The senior backcourter shot 6-10 overall, 4-8 from long distance and 7-7 at the foul line.

On the flip side, Jerry (Sacred Heart Cathedral) Brown went for nine points plus eight boards for the Bulldogs. Tyler (St. Francis High) Johnson added 10 points.

Arizona handles LB St.

Arizona handled visiting Long Beach State 94-72 Monday evening as Wildcat freshman forward Brandon (Bishop O'Dowd) Ashley started and produced a 20/10 double-double in 24 minutes of action.

For the 49ers, guard Peter (Burlingame High) Pappageorge started, played 31 minutes and scored 16 points (4-6 from long distance, 4-4 from the foul line).

Pappageorge starting for LB State

Senior Peter (Burlingame High, Cañada College) Pappageorge, starting in the backcourt, contributed six rebounds, five points and two assists in Long Beach State's 75-65 victory over North Alabama.

LB State topples Santa Barbara

Long Beach State took down UC Santa Barbara 77-64 tonight to win the Big West Conference tournament. Orlando Johnson and James Nunnally each scored 17 points for the Gauchos. Coming off the bench, Peter (Cañada College) Pappageorge scored eight for the 49ers. He scored 11 points in a first-round victory over UC Davis.
