Here's a stab at the top basketballers in northern California junior college play this season:
* Casey Arent, center
21.8 ppg., 11.3 rpg.
He can write his college future if he nails the grades.
* Julian Welch, guard
20.2 ppg.
Not a lot of three-pointers made but he creates and is always at the foul line
* Peter Pappageorge
20.4 ppg.
Some doubt his body and athletic ability in the D-1 ranks but Canada is 9-0 and nobody can stop him from scoring
* Collin Chiverton
19.1 ppg.
Just get it/keep it together personally and that will flow over on to the court -- he's a remarkable talent
* Jonathan Williams
14.5 ppg.
Strong and athletic, he'll be a solid and complementary guy at the next level
Okay, who are we missing and, just as importantly, why should your nomination be here?

Mike McChristian from Yuba is one of the best players in CA and someone who Yuba def. has missed in the preseason. Last years BVC MVP has been injured an just returned a couple days ago. With him back look for Yuba to be one of the top 5 teams in CA. Another player is Julian Scott a 6'8 pf averaging 15 and 8 and getting D1 attention.
ReplyDeleteI Believe Anthony Dixon from West Valley College has been showing tremendous talent. He is not surrounded by a variety of talent so he seems to have much pressure on his back. I believe is averaging about 16 and 10 and is definetly in my eyes one of the best players in the state of California!
ReplyDeleteKyle luckett from Chabot. Averaging double and double and has had a few triple doubles lately. Was Nor Cal player of the week for 3 straight weeks. Also has had NBA scouts going to games... Bulls, Nuggets, Clippers and Trailblazers have all scouted and shown interest in him.
ReplyDeleteI must agree with one of the comments above. Anthony Dixon is a very talented player. I believe he needs to get stronger, and develop his outside shot. As far as talent wise, the boy is definitely gifted. I hope to see him back on the D1 level.
