From College of the Redwoods Athletics:
Corsairs can’t hold on against Los Medanos

College of the Redwoods had a 13-point second-half lead but couldn’t hold on against Los Medanos on Thursday, falling 80-78 in the first round of the Kriss Kringle Classic at Santa Rosa Junior College.

“Our guys played great tonight, we just came up a couple of plays short to get the win,” said CR head coach Justin Mora. “What it came down to was they made a couple more plays than we did.”

Redwoods was led in scoring by James Slade and Justin Heidrick, who scored 15 points apiece, while Mitchell Hash and Jon Losa each finished the game with 14.

According to coach Mora, a turning-point in the game came in the second half when Losa left the game with an injury.

“We had a 10-point lead in the second half and Losa went out with a chest injury and that’s when we started to struggle,” Mora said. “He was able to come back in the game but that time he was out really hurt us.”
