Alexander heading to the mountain west

Out of Weston High, 6-foot-4 Dylan Alexander spent his first year in college at San Jose State University as a walk-on to the men's basketball team and now he has decided to play for Coach Dan Russell at Casper College in Wyoming as a sophomore.

In the prep ranks, he was known as a good shooter and also managed a 15/8 assist-to-turnover ratio this season for the Spartans.

Lettered in basketball at Weston Ranch High School in Stockton, Calif., for head coach Chris Teevan...team won two Valley Oak League championships in 2011 and 2013...2013 co-Most Valuable Player of the Valley Oak League...averaged over 18.1 points a game his senior year...school's career leader in points and never averaged fewer than 16.6 points...selected as 2013 Manteca Bulletin Co-MVP...first team All-Stockton Record Area selection his senior year...three-time first team All-VOL selection...set the single-game scoring record with 40 points his senior year.
