The Cougars won three consecutive Golden Empire League and CIF Sac-Joaquin Section DV Championships. They made three trips to the CIF Northern California State Tournament. This past season, Capital Christian was elevated to the CIF Norcal Open Division where they fell to powerhouse Bishop O'Dowd in the championship game.
Jennings stated: "I would like to thank all my family and friends for their support throughout my high school career. I am excited to begin the new chapter of my life at William Jessup University. I believe Coach Von Vogt has the program heading in the right direction and I look forward to the future of Warriors basketball. The opportunity to stay close to home and play in front of family and friends is a blessing."
Coach Von Vogt stated: "Tyler has been a key target of ours for a while. He is coming from Capital Christian, one of the best programs in the state of California and even more important in our backyard of Sacramento. Him seeing the vision of our program and how we are growing not only athletically but also as a University truly validates where we are headed at WJU. As a person and a basketball player Tyler is a great fit for our program. Tyler possesses an exceptionally high basketball IQ which is imperative at the point guard position. He doesn't shy away from big moments and is used to playing on the floor with other really talented players. Our program really improved with this signing. We are being very intentional about recruiting our Northern California region and home state, but we are looking for the right person and player. Tyler is the right person and player."
The Warriors will open up the season at home on November 6th against Northwest Christian University. The 2014-15 season will mark the Warriors first year in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
