From last week's Pangos event comes these Hardwood Hoops prospect evaluations:
Paris Austin PG 5’11″ 160 lbs. 2015 Bishop O’Dowd HS-(CA)- Holds offers from Florida State, Boise State, Tulsa, San Jose State and Utah State. Austin has impressive bounce and great vision. He is small in stature but has a big game. He can find teammates consistently and has a nice looking jumper with good lift. He was consistent this weekend from the arc. He is the kind of player that you give the ball to from day one and let him go. Austin defends his position well and plays the right way. If he was bigger he would be a megastar, but despite that, he should still be a productive point guard in college.
Noah Blackwell PG 6’0″ 170 lbs. 2015 Woodcreek HS-(CA)- Holds offers from Maryland, New Mexico, Oregon State and others. Blackwell is a strong lead guard who is always trying to push the ball up the court and feed his teammates. More of a pure point who played within himself and his team and didn’t take a bunch of bad shots. He can make the open three confidently, knock down the mid-range jumper, and take the ball to the hole. He is a strong player who is tough, hard nose defender and plays the game the correct way.
Marquesse Chriss PF 6’8″ 230 lbs. 2015 Pleasant Grove-(CA)-Washington commit. Chriss can jump out of the gym. He has a super high motor and is a true rim runner. He gets up and down the floor well enough to run with the guards. He tries to dunk everything, but his skills are behind. His shooting touch isn’t consistent, but with some work, he will be a productive player. He is going to be a perfect fit at Washington.
