Arizona 66, Gonzaga 63

In a matchup that took an overtime to settle, host Arizona turned back Gonzaga 66-63.

Brandon Ashley put together 14 points plus eight rebounds for the victors.

ESPN's Myron Medcalf sticks a fork in Mark Few's big game record.

Thoughts from observing the game:

Being all arms and legs, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson defending Kevin Pangos was a great idea because that limited Pangos in what passes he could make and thus put a major crimp in Gonzaga's offense ... Kyle Wiltjer's face the basket dribble drives weren't long but gave him good looks and his defenders seemingly didn't notice he likes to go right ... Przemek Karnowski is a very effective passer when he gets the ball in the paint ... Stanley Johnson surprisingly looked like a mere mortal and not necessarily a one-and-done guy as most expected ... No one on the court today looked to able to have a dramatic effect at the next level if making that jump after the season. That's surprising considering the caliber of the teams.
