From Monterey Peninsula College mens's basketball: "Solid win against rivals Hartnell College! Final was 78-72. Issac Clark had 22 pts and 20 pts for Stephen Dorsey. Lobos take on West Valley @ 11am Saturday."

* Yuba College 85 - Santa Ana College 82

Jo'sef (Newark Memorial High) Zamora paced the 49ers with 25 points, Vasilje (Del Campo High) Saraba was right behind at 24 (6-11 from long distance) and Manny Malou posted a 22 point, 13 rebound double-double. Yuba posted 24 assists on 30 baskets.

Via Yuba College Men's Basketball: "Yuba beats a good Santa Ana team in a great game that came down to the wire. Yuba called a timeout and set up a play with 14 seconds left and Vasilje Saraba hit a game winning three with 3 seconds left!"

"The Yuba College men's basketball team is starting to gain back some swagger.

After pulling off a come-from-behind victory over Palomar on Thursday to open play at the Mt. San Jacinto Tournament, the 49ers brought even more drama to the gym on Friday.

Vasilje Saraba hit a game-winning 3-pointer to lift the 49ers over Santa Ana 85-82 as Yuba advanced to the tournament championship game today against host Mt. San Jacinto at 7 p.m. Associate coach Ken Griffin drew up the perfect play to get Saraba an open look and he made it count.

Yuba led by as many as 14 points in the second half before Santa Ana was able to get a two-point lead late. The two teams traded blows until the score was knotted at 82-82..."

Josue (Hanford West High) Salaam led Speed City with 18 points while teammate Stevenaire (Mt. Eden High) Young finished with 15. Point Ty (Edison High) Viney was credited with 10 assists.
