San Diego State's rotation

From Mark Ziegler on San Diego State:

"The rotation: Coach Steve Fisher, notably, returned to his comfort zone and went with an eight-man rotation beginning with the second half against Long Beach State last week.

Freshman Malik Pope didn’t play in either game after appearing in the previous four. Fellow freshman Kevin Zabo played three minutes in the second half against Long Beach State and not at all Wednesday for the first time this season. Dakarai Allen, with Aqeel Quinn back on the floor, went from 18 minutes against Long Beach State to three against Cincinnati.

The eight: the starting five plus Quinn, Angelo Chol and Matt Shrigley.

Which raises interesting questions about how Fisher approaches the next three games, all at home, all against inferior nonconference foes. Does he stick with his regulars to build some continuity and confidence entering the Mountain West? Does he give the end of the bench one last shot at proving their worth?"
