Cal Maritime 76, Pacific Union 56

On Saturday, Cal Maritime hosted and defeated Pacific Union 76-56.

CM athletics:

"Coming into tonight's game between Cal Maritime and Pacific Union, it was understandable for fans to expect a back and forth battle. When the Keelhaulers visited Pacific Union in late January, they escaped with a 90-87 overtime victory over an explosive Pioneer team. Tonight's game looked like it would follow suit as Cal Maritime took a slim 5 point lead into halftime as each team exchanged runs  including Pacific Union's 5 point run to end the half. Fortunately, for the Keelhaulers they played some of their best defense of the year and held Pacific Union to 30% field goal shooting in the second half to secure a 76-56 victory.

Cal Maritime was led by Dominique (Manteca High) Barnes' double-double as he registered 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Barnes was joined in double figure scoring by Roman Delgado (13 points), Kameron Hoyt (12 points), and Clayton White (10 points). Zach Davis also had a strong game on the backboards as he finished with 9 rebounds. The Keelhaulers were efficient offensively shooting over 50% from the field for the game and finished with 15 assists.

Pacific Union's Greg (San Jose City College) Brown finished with 14 points and Taureaus Maxwell also was in double figures with 12 points. Vallejo native Jordan (Napa Valley College) Greenwell continued his strong senior campaign finishing with 10 rebounds and 8 points. The Pioneers were held to 34% for the game included 21% from three point line after hitting 12 triples against Simpson University on Thursday..."
