Inside the Redwood Curtain on Saturday, Humboldt State proved to be six points better than Chico State, 71-65.
Five of the Lumberjacks scored in double figures with Tom (Diablo Valley College/Arcata High) Witzel providing 13 points plus four boards. He shot 5-8 overall, 3-6 beyond the stripe.
Robert (Air Force Academy Prep/Granite Bay High) Duncan and Jordan (Arcata High) Semple were prominent for the Wildcats. The former scored 18 points alongside six rebound with the latter contributing 17 and six. Jordan (Bishop O'Dowd High) Barton totaled 13 points on 6-8 shooting.
