JC game scores from Tuesday

Below are the outcomes of matchups involving northern California JC teams in action last night:

* Cosumnes River College 79, American River College 63 box

For CRC, it was five players in double figure: Phil (Edison High) Randles 15, David (Burbank High) Straughter 13 plus 11 boards, Josh (Cosumnes Oaks High) Johnson 12, Mitchell (Burbank High) Love 11 points and eight assists and Josh (Galt High) Dela Cruz with 11. Donald (Center High) Mims collected 12 rebounds, nine points and five blocked shots. It was 21 assists on 28 baskets.

* Sacramento City College 81, Modesto Junior College 61 box

For SCC, a 43-19 lead after 20 minutes did the trick. Brandon (Valley High) Rowden led with 24 points followed by 16 from Devin Joseph.

From the Modesto Bee:

"The Modesto Junior College and Sacramento City men’s basketball teams are both bringing up the rear in the Big 8 Conference.

But it certainly didn't look that way on Tuesday night – especially in the first half.

Sacramento appeared to be the far more polished of the two as the Cougars (2-7 Big 8, 8-14 overall) rolled past the Pirates 81-61.

It was the fifth straight loss for MJC (2-7, 5-16), which early last month handed Sacramento at 66-61 defeat at MJC Gym.

On Tuesday, it was a different story for an MJC team that's one just once since that Jan. 9 victory over the Cougars."

+++++++

* San Joaquin Delta College 65, Santa Rosa Junior College 61

For SRJC: Parker (Humboldt State) Farris 20, Corey (Cardinal Newman) Hammell 14, Markel (Cal Poly) Leonard 12.

For SJDC: Troy (Armijo High) Anderson 21 points.
