With UC Irvine's 7-foot-6 Mamadou Ndiaye remaining in the NBA draft instead of returning for his senior season, his time on the court will now need to be filled and this bodes well for 6-foot-10 sophomore Jonathan (Salesian High) Galloway. The graduation of 6-foot-10 Mike Best will also provide greater opportunity for additional minutes.
7-foot-2 senior Ioannis Dimakopoulos returns in the middle for the Anteaters but Galloway is next in the height chart. The former played just under 15 minutes a game for Coach Russell Turner and averaged 5.2 points plus 2.6 rebounds while Galloway finished with 2.7 and 3.7 respectively in 14 minutes an outing.
Turner has a 6-foot-10 freshman coming in but he'll require a lot of skill work before being ready to compete on a nightly basis. Galloway will be big both literally and figuratively in 2016-17.
