Oscar Robertson

"The Big O: A legend now and forever - Walking the halls of the National African American Museum, he spans two eras of hoops and history" -- Mike Wise

"Oscar Robertson keeps it real on social activism, how to navigate the business of sports"-- Rhiannon Walker

From the first article: "...When his Crispus Attucks High School team became the first all-black team to win an Indiana state title, white city officials wouldn’t let them go downtown to celebrate, figuring they’d riot..."

Was it a fear that Robertson and Company would riot or a Robertson and Company downtown celebration would bring out the Klan in their white-sheeted riot gear? Institutions and officials doing their job and standing up for freedom and justice for all is never a given if the persons to be lauded are not white.
