 Fletcher Johnson is amazed that so many area Amateur Athletic Union boys basketball teams continue to compete for a limited pool of top talent each season.

"We have too many clubs trying to play at the elite level," says Johnson, who coached AAU for 11 seasons.

At least 10 Sacramento-area senior AAU teams will join hundreds of other boys teams from across the nation in several high-profile tournaments this week in Las Vegas...
