Coach Paul Trevor and his San Francisco State Gators squad started making some noise last season, finishing with a 16-11 overall record, 14-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). It was Trevor's initial season at the helm.
But such success shouldn't come as a surprise as Trevor's previous position as the associate head coach at Cal State University San Bernardino resulted five regular season conference championships and a 135-35 record.
Here's Trevor's philosophy: "I try to keep it simple. Play hard with the ability to execute. It's not about you, it's about each other. If you don't buy into these three things, you won't be playing for me."
A native of Fairfax, Trevor assisted at San Francisco and Sonoma State University (his alma mater) before his tenure down south.
So what about the 2011-12 season? Well, the Gator roster is chock full of NorCal talents, including a well known name, James Albright, who has transferred in from Cal State University Bakersfield.
Here's the local/regional rundown:
* James Albright, 6-foot-6, 212, junior (Fremont High)
* Tyler Brown, 6-foot, 200, senior (St. Joseph Notre Dame/CCSF)
* Max Fodor, 6-foot-8, 250, sophomore (Bellarmine Prep)
