A handful of the high profile young men are really messing up this season.
Not to dismiss what has taken place but it's worth noting that there are a lot more who are doing well on the court and in the classroom so let's keep some perspective. Take 100 people of any sort or 'profession' and there will always be some exhibiting lack of maturity.
It does hurt the basketball rep of the Bay Area and northern California and feeds the flight-not-fight label often attached to the ballers here but much more importantly, the focus needs to be on each of the individuals who are struggling and what can be provided so that they can get themselves into more appropriate frames of mind. That, and how to build an atmosphere and a setting where more appropriate decision-making skills are fostered.
