Diablo Valley College's Raphael Carter earned Most Valuable Player honors at the recent West Valley College-hosted tournament and, according to DVC Coach Steve Coccimiglio, Carter was chosen for his all-around contributions.
"Raphael didn't up big numbers scoring but he played well overall," Coccimiglio said. "He did a good job against the big guy for Monterey Peninsula [Andrew Young] as most teams haven't been able to contain him. He also was effective against Foothill (plus five blocked shots and eight rebounds) and Alameda (nine points and nine boards)."
