High school basketball news and notes from Saturday

* Jesse Hunt's 21/11 double-double led Drake High to a 56-54 win over Pinole Valley as Drake captured its own Red Brown tournament.

* Fortuna High won the Jerry Paul Arcata Invitational Basketball Tournament in a 73-43 romp over Arcata behind 20 points from Nate Ambrosini -- Danny Penza reports. Senior guard Jacob Claus won MVP honors.

* Brian Anderson reports on Half Moon Bay's rising to the top of the Burligname Lions Club Invitational over Burlingame High. Cory Cilia led with 33 points for HMB.

* Folsom High 64 - Woodcreek High 63 in the championship game of the Folsom/Vista Classic:

Jordan Ford's 28 points versus Noah Blackwell's 18.

* In the Gridley tourney, Capital Christian High 78 - Sacramento High 75:

Tyler Jennings' 21 points (he was named the MVP) and D.J. Wilson scored 16 while Solomon Young finished with 20.

* Cameron Oliver scored 25 points in Grant High's 61-47 victory over Brookside Christian.

* Gabe Vincent finished with 35 but St. Mary's fell to Jesuit 80-69 in the finals of the Father Berry Christmas Classic.

* Piedmont Hills is doing it again -- off to a 4-0 start -- after topping Oakland Tech 77-64. Walter Bateast scored 26 (three treys) for the winners while Julian Standley finished with 28 points, including four treys, for OT.
