What an interesting profession. Marquette attempted to replace Coach Williams first with VCU's Shaka Smart but that was a no go. The same with Cuonzo Martin, who elected to stay with his Tennessee program. Then it became Duke Assistant Steve Wojciechowski and he was hired.
The same with South Florida. Manhattan's Steve Masiello was signed until a discrepancy about his not graduating from Kentucky kiboshed that. UNLV's Dave Rice was then offered but he elected to remain in The Silver State. Finally, Kentucky Assistant Orlando Antigua accepted the position.
It brings to mind old coaching line, something about 'I wasn't my wife's first choice either.'
