Will Cherry has been brought back into the fold by the Cleveland Cavaliers:
The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed in principle to sign point guard Will Cherry to a two-year deal partially guaranteed, according to Yahoo Sports.
Cherry played for the Cavaliers’ summer league team this past off-season and their D-League Canton affiliate last season. The University of Montana star was recently cut by the Toronto Raptors after averaging 3.4 points in five preseason games. The Cavaliers cut guard A.J. Price on Saturday to make room for Cherry.
Cherry averaged 11.6 points, 3.9 rebounds 5 assists and 1.5 steals per game for Erie last season.
Good for the young man. With the Cavs, he won't be expected/needed to achieve more than applying what his strengths are.
Addition -- a little more, this from David Pick: "Will Cherry's solid play for David Blatt in Summer League convinced Cavs to sign him in place of AJ Price."
