Nor Cal JC scores and more from yesterday

In the San Jose City College hosted tourney yesterday:

* San Jose City College 90 - Cosumnes River College 74 boxscore

SJCC's Maurice Joiner went for 24 points and nine rebounds. For CRC, David Straughter posted an 18 point/12 board double-double as well as three assists and two blocked shots. Teammate Mitchell Love finished with 17 points while frosh Daylon Potts enjoyed 14 boards and nine points. Freshman center Donald Mims had an interesting night: 16 minutes on the court, 3-3 shooting, four rebounds, four blocked shots but also four personal fouls.

* Monterey Peninsula College 54 - Riverside City College 53

Wing Will Burkett led the victors with 17 points while teammate Stephen Dorsey just missed a double-double with 10 points and eight boards.

* Merritt College 64 - Foothill College 61

Leo Smith led the Thunderbirds with 21 points (4-6 from three-point range) while teammate and fellow backcourter Denzel Bellot scored 14. He just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.

Lassen College 83 - College of Merced 53

Today's matchups:

In the Ohlone College-hosted Jon Wallace Memorial tourney yesterday:

Cañada College 78 - San Joaquin Delta College 56 boxscore (did anyone forsee this margin of victory?)

Cañada guard Crisshawn Clark posted an 18 point/10 rebound double-double but did requires 17 shots while teammates Rohndell (Merrill West High) Clark totaled 14 points plus five boards and a trio of assists.

* Cabrillo College 81 - Modesto Junior College 42

* Mt. San Jacinto College 88 - Hartnell 67

* Ohlone College 74 - Shasta College 54

In the Las Positas College hosted Tony Costello Memorial tourney yesterday:

* Butte College 79 - Contra Costa College 76

As usual, Arthur Caldwell led BC with 21 points. Guard Dawson Johnson paced the Comets with both 21 points and five steals. Byron Buckley enjoyed 13 points and Tajai Johnson scored 12 points.

* Las Positas College 84 - Gavilan College 67

LPC athletics has the game report -- McKayle Harnell led the victors with 18 points.

* Sacramento City College 87 - College of the Siskiyous 40

Columbia College 57 - Diablo Valley College 53

* Skyline College 97 - host College of Alameda 72 boxscore

Elijah White led with 22 points, Wai Min was right behind with 21, Seth Snoddy finished with 13 points and nine rebounds and Daniel Afeaki contributed nine boards plus eight points. The Trojans shot 58% overall.
