The latest on California Pacific Conference hoops

From the Cal Pac Conference site:

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK
Thursday, October 30
MULTNOMAH 103, UC MERCED 98:  The Lions, who average over 100 points a game through a barrage of threes, outran the Bobcats in an up-tempo season opener in Merced, CA. UCM shot 102 times in the game, including 27 from three point range. Multnomah matched that pace, attempting 83 shots, with 50 coming from beyond the arc. UCM's Ryan Edwards had a big night, totaling 26 points and 11 rebounds while connecting on 13-of-18 shots from the floor. Kevin Ellsworth finished with a double-double as poured in 17 points and pulled down 10 boards. Kenny Veliz added 13 points for the Bobcats, and Daniel Pugh chipped in 12.

Friday, October 31
OREGON TECH 95, MENLO 75:  Daniel Romero poured in 17 points and Mikey Eggleton added 15 as the Oaks lost to the Hustling Owls at the Southern Oregon Classic in Ashland, OR. Jordan Collier finished with eight points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Menlo in that category. Menlo, 0-2, stayed within nine at the intermission, but OIT pulled away with a 57-point second half.

WARNER PACIFIC 78, SIMPSON 57: The Knights outshot the Red Hawks in the opening round of the Frank Dye Classic in Vallejo, CA. Ian Corella and Dalton Thacker each finished with 15 points for Simpson, which dropped to 1-2 on the season. Thacker also led the team with eight rebounds.

NO. 22 CAL MARITIME 104, MULTNOMAH 85:  The Keelhaulers christened their new gym and new season with a big win in the opening round of the Frank Dye Classic in Vallejo, Calif. Five players reached double figures for CMA: Roman Delgado (19), Harley Ruder (14), Dominique Barnes (13), Zach Davis (10), and Kameron Hoyt (10). Saturday, November 1
No. 17 SOUTHERN OREGON 85, MENLO 61:  The Raiders built an early lead and gradually added to it to pull away from the Oaks in the second round of the Southern Oregon Classic in Ashland, OR. Brad Sawin led his squad with 23 points and nine rebounds. Tyler Evans added 10 points for Menlo, now 0-3.

SIMPSON 112, MULTNOMAH 90:  The Red Hawks' were hitting on all cylinders, rolling over the Lions with an offensive barrage in the second game of the Frank Dye Classic in Vallejo, CA. Dalton Thacker led six players in double figures with a 22-point, nine rebound performance. Jonnie Washburn drained four of seven threes to finish with 18 points. Anthony Williams and Shaquille Jones each tallied 17 points while Jones, the point guard led all players with 11 rebounds. Ian Corella and Mark Kirkland each tossed in 13 in the lopsided win that improved Simpson's preseason record to 2-2.

WARNER PACIFIC 63, NO.22 CAL MARITIME 53: The Knights jumped out early and the Keelhaulers kept it close, but CMA could not catch up entirely in the second half and lost the second round game of the Frank Dye Classic in Vallejo, CA. The Keelhaulers, now 1-1, could not generate enough offense, shooting a miserable 2-for14 (14%) from the 3-point line, and only kept the game in range with solid defense. Adam Smith led CMA with 10 points, connecting on 5-of-6 shots from the floor.

HOPE INTERNATIONAL 105, UC MERCED 67: The Royals rolled over the Bobcats in the non-league matchup in Fullerton, CA. Ryan Edwards led UCM with 21 points and added six rebounds while Reggie Nelson finished with 11 points. The Bobcats fall to 0-2 in the preseason.
