Whittier College bested UC Santa Cruz on Friday 71-58 as Jared Ponce led the Slugs with 18 points and James (Sacramento High) Townsend finished with nine points plus seven boards.
Finally located guard Jacob Contreras out of Las Positas College/Amador Valley High -- he's on the Whittier roster.
