So what did we learn?

After a night of digesting the Wisconsin win over Kentucky ...

With a Lexington angle:

some of those referee calls or non-calls in the second half were strange but a perfectly called game will take place at the same time a perfectly played and coached one occurs ... just think how many more points Karl-Anthony Towns will score in the NBA just because he shoots 81% at the foul line ... when will Kentucky land a dominating force at the guard position? (although a couple of current backcourters will be better than the Harrisons before they are done (not a knock, just an observation) ... at 240 pounds (which may be inflated a bit), how is Willie Cauley-Stein such a terrific out-on-the-floor defender? ... how well the Bluegrass Staters unselfishly share the ball is a tribute to both Coach Calipari and the players ... 7-footer Dakari Johnson played eight minutes, a tribute to who is ahead of him and the depth on this squad as he would be a 32 minute guy on any other team ... E.J. (Palo Alto High) Floreal just missed being a member of a national championship program ... is Wildcat walk-on guard and Massachusetts-native Sam Malone named after the television character? If so, cheers ...

As a Cheesehead:

Going into the game did anyone have the Badgers more than doubling up on free throw attempts (22 to 10) -- again, credit to Coach Ryan and his guys for excellent defensive positioning and techniques -- on the season, the Wildcats out-shot opponents at the line 943 to 672 ... same with  rebounding, 34-22 despite Kentucky owning a collective 38.0 - 31.2 season edge ... how well does Frank Kaminsky's skills set translate to the NBA? ... Sam Dekker has the highest professional ceiling of anyone on the team but still disappears/less than dominates too often ... Wisconsin had more turnovers (10) than Kentucky (6) but they are a group of guys whose defensive effort will get a lot of steals or force errors ... look at the geographical makeup of the Wisconsin roster: seven natives, three from Ohio and Illinois, two from Minnesota and one from California
