A 47-34 second half in favor of College of the Redwoods turns the tide late as the Corsairs sailed past Shasta College 84-75 on Wednesday.
"REDDING - After trailing most of the game, the College of the Redwoods men’s basketball team made a big defensive stand late in the second half and the Corsairs held off Shasta 84-75 on the road Wednesday.
Redwoods trailed by four at the half and was down 8 with 3:34 to go when the team made its push. Christian Alatorre came down with important rebounds late in the game and Rishod Abraham and Will Ingersoll combined for 12 of the team’s final 14 points.
Ingersoll and Abraham led CR in scoring with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Justin Claus chipped in 16 and DeAndre Winston 13.
The Corsairs improved to 11-10 overall and 2-3 in the Golden Valley Conference and sits one game behind Shasta for third place in the GVC.
