On the court absence of Elliott Pitts

Sean Miller with the latest on Elliott Pitts: "Meanwhile, Miller said Pitts should be able to step right back in the event things ever change.

“He practices every day with us so yeah, for sure” he could play, Miller said. “Anything beyond that, it’s out of my control.”

If the issue is out of Miller’s control, that and the timing could suggest Pitts is not sitting out because of an academic, health or team-related disciplinary issue.

When asked if he expected Pitts could still return at some point this season, this is how Miller responded:

“I hope so. I think it’s fair for me to say we miss him. One of the things you look at with our team is depth in the backcourt, especially without Allonzo, a perimeter defender, somebody else who can take the burden off of Kadeem Allen, but also having two defensive stoppers in the game together where you just have that 15-20 minute window where you have some guys with the know how, the ability, (being) 6-5 and been there, done that, which he has, you add him to what we have and no question our team jumps up a notch.

“I hope so. I can’t expound any more than that.”
