Angelo State is a member of the DII Lone Star Conference and made it to the regional finals this season, finishing at 25-7. The squad averaged 14.8 assists versus 15.3 turnovers hence the need for Otis' talents.
Out of Sacred Heart Cathedral, 6-foot-1 Deondre Otis spent two years at Monterey Peninsula College. This season, he averaged 17.8 points, 5.8 boards, 5.7 assists plus 1.8 steals per game, shooting 53%, 35% and 64%.
Otis was a First Team Coast Conference South honoree and should have been selected to the all state team.
