Why the need for heroes (or villains) in the sports and entertainment field? Just enjoy what you see or hear. These are people who are good at their chosen crafts but not worldchangers in any sense of the word so application of the h-word doesn't apply.
Look at groups/individuals such as Doctors Without Borders if there is a need to be inspired. Look at the teacher who goes above and beyond and so many more who have actual impacts in bettering lives and who do so often at some personal cost and without becoming wealthy or famous.
