In Livermore on Thursday afternoon, Fullerton downed Cañada College 83-65 allowing the Orange County crew to move on and reach the CCCAA Final Four.
For the Colts, Mike (Newark Memorial High/Georgia State) Pickney totaled 18 points and six rebounds while teammate Antony (San Lorenzo High) Navarette provided 15 points plus five boards.
The score was 36-27 at the half.
Interesting numbers:
* Cañada shot just 3-19 from long distance and 44% overall versus Fullerton's 54%
* The Orange County-ites were guilty of 24 turnovers to Cañada's 17. However, the victors scored 23 points off those 17 miscues while the Colts tallied 17 points off Fullerton's errors.
* Ian Fox scored 35 points for the Hornets, 18 in the first half, 17 in the second session.
* The second half was key as Fullerton shot 17-24 overall and 6-7 from three-point range.
