UC Davis announces a guard signing

"Delveion Jackson is the newest member of UC Davis basketball after signing a National Letter of Intent, as announced by head coach Jim Les on Thursday. The 6-foot-6 Boise native, joins fall signees Logan Strom, TJ Shorts II and Gio Nelson as the team's new incoming class.

“From the coaching staff, the family atmosphere with my future teammates and the incredible campus, my official visit was amazing. This led to my final decision to become an Aggie,” said Jackson.

In his final season at Centennial High School, Jackson, a 5A All-Idaho First Team selection, averaged 15.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. In addition to leading the Patriots to a second-place finish at the Idaho State Tournament, Jackson also collected Idaho State All-Star Game Most Valuable Player honors.

“Delveion is a do-it-all type player,” said Centennial High School head coach Josh Apperspach. “He can score, pass and rebounds very well for a guard.  The thing I love most about him is that he loves to play defense; he’s long, athletic and creates problems for teams. He will be a good fit at UC Davis.”

Jackson, who was born in Riverside, also earned 5A Southern Idaho Conference All-Academic Team throughout his senior season, recognition earned by holding a 3.5 GPA or higher.

In his junior year, Jackson led CHS to a 21-6 record, which included a strong State Tournament run. By averaging 10.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals, he earned 5A All-Idaho Second Team accolades."
