It was a one-point lead for Los Angeles Southwest College after 20 minutes but the game ended with that single digit turned into a 14 point differential against Merritt College Thursday, 97-83, in the Allan Hancock tournament.
Tyrell (El Cerrito High) Alcorn led the Thurderbirds with 18 points but needed 17 shot attempts to do so. Tim (Freedom High) Jordan and Thomas (Vanden High) Avent each totaled 16 points plus Malik (Deer Valley High) Thompson tallied 10 points as well as 10 rebounds.
