Here's Joe Fuca with his periodic update on Lakeshow players

Joe Fuca heads the Lakeshow club team basketball program and he periodically sends out a report on how his players are doing:
"Happy New Year everyone,

Our boys below are performing at a very high level -- amazing team leadership and great team results. If I missed anyone, please understand that MaxPreps does not cover stats for everyone. Please shoot me a note if your team or your son is doing great at the Varsity level.

The very popular Torey Pines tourney featured Bishop O’Dowd getting to the Championship of the highest levels against Long Beach Poly. Congrats to Kendall Jackson (2012), Brendan Royal (2012), and TJ Daniel (2012) on helping their team get there. Special sound out to Anders Haas (2011) who was named all tourney.

Congrats to Jason Webster (2013) Class on making MVP of his game at the ESPN RISE Holiday classic tourney in LA. He has St Patrick-St Vincent playing good basketball right now at 8-3 and ranked second in DIV. He averaged 15 points and 5 assists for that tourney.

Congrats to Jordan Guisti (2011), TJ Garrett (2011) and Mark Tollefsen (2011) for leading their San Ramon Valley team to the championship of the St Francis tourney with wins over Deer Valley, San Leandro and St Francis. Special sound out to Jordan Guisti for winning MVP of the tourney and Mark Tollefsen for getting all tourney. SRV is 12-0 out of the door and ranked fifth in Div I.

Olajuwon Garner (2012) – Deer Valley – has been steaming it up lately. He scored 41 points against Palo Alto, and 19 points against SRV. Big O also made all tourney of the St. Francis tourney. He has Deer Valley at 10 wins already, with three losses to really good teams.

Congrats to Tyler Fidelbus (2012), Kevin Stafford (2011) and Trevean Duffy (2011) for leading their team to the Tim Cole Championship over Antioch. Special sound out to Trevean Duffy for winning the MVP and Kevin Stafford for making all tourney. Also, Tyler Fidelbus for averaging over 12 rebounds per game in that tourney and getting it done on the glass. Las Lomas is off to a good start at 12-1. There are some nice highlights on the Lakeshow Facebook site of their game vs Northgate. Las Lomas currently ranked seventh in DII will most likely move up this week.

Michael Crawley – Antioch – 2011 – made all tourney in all three tourneys that Antioch has played in this year. The latest was at the Tim Cole tourney where he led his team in battle in a one point loss to Las Lomas.

James Davis – Arroyo High School - 2011 – Northern Colorado bound - put up 46 points in a win over Thurgood Marshall.

Chris Read – Castro Valley – 2011 – is averaging 13.5 pts per game for CV and he has them at 9-1 out of the gates. Look for CV to continue to be highly ranked (number two in Div I right now) as they knocked off Oakland High and Chris had a thunderous dunk in that game. Chris was all tourney in the Washington tourney.

Ryan Hyrn – Cal High – 2012 – was voted all tourney in the Dublin tourney where he averaged 15 points per game. Cal lost in the finals against Heritage.

BJ Smith - Rodriguez - 2011 - averaging 11 pts per game and 12 rebounds. Rodriguez is struggling but they will find their way for league play when it counts.

Ben Freeland – Montgomery High School – 2011 - lost to El Cerrito in the Torrey Pines tourney after posting a nice opening win. Montgomery is ranked fifth in DII and they are off to a 8-1 start. Ben had 18 pts and 15 rebounds in the opening round of the TP tourney.

Michael and John Daily – College Park – 2012 - were named all tourney in the Hogan tournament. Mike is averaging 13 points and John 7 points per game and CP is off to a 7-4 start.

Raymond Bowles – Modesto Christian - 2013 – Ranked fourth in DIV. Modesto finally lost a few games in their hosted tourney last weekend when they fell to two tough teams from AL. Ray scored 26 points against Morningside High from LA. Modesto is now 8-2.

Jalani Hardaway – Freedom High – 2012 – made some awesome moves and scored 15 pts against Monte Vista High in the Dougherty Valley shootout. It was good to see Jalani back and playing hard.

Mike Harris – 2011- Monte Vista -- is averaging a double double (no surprise) for his team as they learning to play with a new starting lineup around Mike. Mike has been all tourney in the two tournaments that MV has played in. Mike had a big double double against Palo Alto last week.

Spencer Hollie and Jamir Andrews -2013 - Dublin High - the pair have Dublin off and running to a 8-5 start. Very talented young team. Jamir is scoring in the high teens each game now and Spencer is fighting for every rebound. Both of them were all tourney in the Tim Cole Tourney last week.

Tyler Charrette – Berean Christian – 2012 - Tyler put up 16 points on the night I went to see him beat Albany High by 5 points. Tyler had some sweet passes too.

Matt Butler – 2011 – Northgate – averaging a double double every time I look up. He made all tourney again last week for Northgate. Look for NG to make some noise this year in their league.

Ross Anderson – 2012 – Miramonte High – starting to get his basketball legs going after an amazing football season at QB. Ross is scoring around 10 points per game for Miramonte.

Nico Zamora – 2013 – Monte Vista High – Nico is shaking off the football legs as well and really starting to show his abilities as a point gurard scoring 10 points per game in the last 7 games and dishing out 5 assists.

I am sure many more of the Lakeshow players will make the next Bulletin as we approach the League season. Good luck.
