Here's the report of Cabrillo College's triumph over Hartnell:
The Cabrillo College Seahawks traveled to Salinas tonight to take on the Hartnell Panthers and came away with an impressive 69-63 win. Cabrillo (18-6, 9-0) came out sluggish and found themselves down early 19-12. The Seahawks were in early foul trouble and continually put Hartnell at the line. Cabrillo made a late run in the half and did a much better job of keeping Hartnell (11-12, 5-3) off the stripe to erase the deficit and take a 3 point lead into the locker room 36-33.

In the second half the Seahawks came out and jumped on the Panthers behind the dribble penetration and passing of Tyler Velasquez. Soon the Seahawks enjoyed a 10 point lead that they continued to hold on to until a late Hartnell run tied the score at 63 with 1:37 to go. Cabrillo's Velasquez drove the lane and hit a seven-footer off the glass to make it 65-63. The Seahawks held on to win with some clutch free throw shooting from Darrell Espy and Aaron Short to close out the win.

Aaron Short led the Seahawks in scoring with 17 points. Markus Duran had 14 points. Bert Hall and Tyler Velasquez each contributed with 12 apiece.
