Four new talents joining the Slugs

Coach Ron DuBois has four new Slugs joining the 2013-14 UC Santa Cruz men's basketball team:

* Tyler Berkness, 6-foot-3, Bella Vista Hugh (Fair Oaks)

In 2012-2013, Tyler was named Capital Valley Conference MVP, Sacramento All City and selected for the Optimist All-Star game. His play led Fair Oaks to 24 wins, the section Semi-Finals and to State, as he was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Broncos, who at one point were No. 19 in NorCal.

Ilan Zur, 6-foot-5, Summerfield Waldorf High (Santa Rosa)

Earning back-to-back league MVP honors, Ilan's total points scored in the 2012-13 season ranked in the top 10 in the state of California. Led team to 22 wins and averaged 25.3 points per game, 11.3 rebounds per game.

Andreas Peritos, 6-foot-6, Stuart Hall High (San Francisco)

A Second Team All League selection, Andreas led his team to a 19-win season in 2012-13 as he averaged seven points and seven rebounds per game.

Hayden Bishop, 5-foot-9, Chaparral High (Scottsdale, AZ)

Hayden led his team to a 22-win season as Chaparral finished at #16 in the state of Arizona. He averaged 8.6 points, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
