From the Cabrillo College basketball site: "The Seahawks won their second straight game and improved their record
to 4-2 on the season by defeating Merrit College (Oakland) ranked #8 in
Northern California at the Shasta Tournament. It's was the second
straight game to go into overtime and the Seahawks responded with a
83-76 win to take the Consolation Championship game."

* Fresno City College 80 - Lassen College 63 Boxscore
From the Fresno Bee:
"Chris Ashanti scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high seven
rebounds to cap a tournament MVP performance as Fresno City beat Lassen
80-63 in the championship of the El Camino College Tournament of
Champions in Torrance.
Ashanti averaged 15.7 points and six rebounds per game for the tournament on 56.3% shooting.
The
Rams (8-1) went into the locker room trailing 41-34 but rode a 27-6 run
in the opening 8:56 of the second half to the win. They shot 16 for 24
while the Cougars went 6 for 27 in the final 20 minutes.
Freshman
Meshawn Beard scored 11 points and dished out five assists for the
Cougars (4-2). He led the tournament with a 17.3 scoring average in
three games, earning an all-tournament spot.
Fresno City's Rich
Tesmer also made the all-tourney team after hitting 4 of 9 3-pointers
for the tournament and scoring 12 points in the title game.
