San Jose State University went to Malibu last night and emerged with its initial 2013 victory, 83-77 versus Pepperdine.
In eight minutes of play for the Spartans, freshman Dylan (Weston Ranch High) Alexander produced six points (2-3 from long distance) plus three rebounds.
For the Wave, senior Brendan (Rocklin High/UCLA) Lane finished with 23 points, nine boards and six blocked shots in 29 minutes.
