Marcus Bell has added some new punch to the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors. Here's Bell's page at the Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball site.
Bell, the Warriors’ 6-foot-9, 225-pound center by way of the University of Idaho and Enochs High, once again proved nearly unstoppable during Stanislaus’ 69-48 win Saturday afternoon over Holy Names at Fitzpatrick Arena.
Bell scored points on 13 of 16 shooting from the floor, pulled down 15 rebounds and blocked three shots for Stanislaus, which opened with three wins in a row for the second time in the last three years.
The senior from Modesto, last week’s California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Player of the Week, is averaging 26.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Saturday’s game marked his second consecutive double-double in a performance he punctuated with emphatic slam dunks.
More important, Bell rallied his team after Holy Names (1-5) closed an 18-point deficit to seven midway through the second half.
