Bear Cubs' Have Final Four Fever! 


(Santa Rosa)-- No need for a doctor, but the men's basketball program and the Bear Cub Nation faithful have contracted a healthy dose March madness final four fever! The Santa Rosa JC men are preparing for the biggest game in school history. Its making its first final four appearance and a opportunity to win its only men's state title. The team plays this weekend at the California Community College Athletic Association final four state basketball championships. The No.1 north seed Bear Cubs' face the south's No. 2 seed Chaffey College at Cerritos College in Norwalk at 5pm.

SRJC beat host Fresno City College last weekend 83-72 in the Northern California Regional semifinals. The volcanic hot Bear Cubs' (22-8) have been building a tsunami of momentum since December 19th winning 19 of 21 games. The victory over the No. 2 Rams was Santa Rosa's 11 straight win in a row. 

Head Coach Craig McMillan, now in his fourteenth season, has an impressive a record of 298 wins and 145 losses. If his team wins the title, he would pick up win three hundred on Sunday. 

Coach McMillan both as a division one coach and a star guard for the University of Arizona has participated in big time games. At Arizona he became Coach Lute Olson's first blue chip player. He helped the Wildcats in 1988 go the NCAA Final Four and won the schools first Pac10 title. The mentors knowledge for the game has translated nicely at Santa Rosa coaching teams to the Northern California Regional semifinals five times...
