Give Walters credit

From Steve Kroner's article on the USF victory over San Diego and the Dons continuing on in the WCC tournament:

In his postgame news conference, USF head coach Rex Walters - unprompted - left no doubt about which team he believes will be holding the championship trophy on the floor of the Orleans Arena on Tuesday night.

"I told our guys, 'I think we're the best team here, quite honestly,' " Walters said. "We have a chance to prove it. ... I think we've got as good a chance as anyone, and I think we're better."

Gotta give Walters credit for publicly stating what he believes in a time where so much discourse is severely guarded and smothered in platitudes.
