Chico St. 78, Cal St. Dominguez Hills 64

Down in Carson on Saturday, Chico State proved up for the task in turning back Cal State Dominguez Hills 78-64. Tanner Giddings tallied 20 points plus 12 rebounds and Jalen McFarren played well with his line of 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

The ChicoER: "Tanner Giddings’ big night led the Chico State men’s basketball team to a 78-64 victory over host Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday night and into a four-way tie for first place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Giddings had career highs of 20 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks as the 21st-ranked Wildcats (11-2, 5-1 CCAA) are now tied with Cal Poly Pomona, Humboldt State and UC San Diego.

Isaiah Ellis added 11 points, Drew Kitchens and Robert Duncan had nine apiece, and Jalen McFerren had 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists as he, Duncan and Corey Silverstrom shared team-high honors in the latter category. Giddings equaled his best in assists as he had three against the Toros (7-6, 1-4 CCAA).

The Wildcats outscored Dominguez Hills 38-18 in points in the paint. Chico State made 6 of 13 attempts on 3-pointers and pulled away after leading 31-27 at halftime...."
