Ex-Salesian player Parker honored

"Western Washington junior forward Jeffrey Parker has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for January 4-10. Parker shared the award with Western Oregon’s Andy Avgi.

Parker (Richmond, CA/Salesian) scored 60 points in a pair of road games at Alaska (39 points) and Alaska Anchorage (21 points) last week. His 39-point effort in the 100-99 victory over Alaska was the 8th-most points in WWU single-game history and the most by a GNAC player this season. He made 15 of 28 from the field, tying for the 10th most field goals made in a GNAC game, and connected on 8 of 17 from three-point range, which is 15th best in conference history, while pulling down 11 rebounds (4th career double-double). This was Parker’s third career GNAC Player of the Week honor.

For the season Parker is averaging 19.3 points per game, 3rd-best in the GNAC. He has scored 1,109 career points (15.0 ppg) in 74 games, 18th in program history."
