LPC 92, Ohlone 81

Las Positas College opened conference play on the road yesterday with a 92-81 success against Ohlone College.

LPC Men's Basketball: "..."The Hawks, who hadn't played since Dec. 22, improved to 11-5 overall and have the second-longest winning streak in the state. They entered the game ranked #18 in the state and #9 in Northern California.

Keith Hunter led five LPC players in double-figure scoring with 21 points. Kameron Johnson closely followed with 20 points, Cameron Moses and Brandon Eboigbodin had 18 each, and Aaron Berry came off the bench to contribute 10.

Hunter scored 15 of his points, and Berry scored all 10 of his, in the first half, which ended with the Hawks ahead 45-36.

After a three-point play by Eboigbodin and a bucket by Hunter midway through the second half, LPC built its biggest lead of the night at 72-52. However, Ohlone (7-9 overall), which had won 5 of its previous 6 games, chipped away at the lead before going on a 10-0 run that pulled the Renegades within 79-74 with 4:41 remaining.

The Hawks responded with a 7-2 spurt--5 points by Eboigbodin and a bucket in the lane by Moses--making it 86-76 with 2:23 left to ice the victory..."
