Madec sets Ram record

"Fresno City College's Ed Madec broke a 50-year old FCC men's hoop record at the Allan Hancock Holiday Tournament on 12/29. The 97-80 win over AHC in a Santa Maria semi-final was Ed's 279th with the Rams, breaking Joe Kelly's mark of 278. The Rams beat Cuesta in the championship 82-81. Joe, who died in 1981, was 278-105 in 12 years with two state championships (1955 and 1963), three third-places and a runner-up in 1965. His last game was a 69-67 loss in OT to Jerry Tarkanian and Riverside.

Madec is 280-49 in 9+ years at FCC. On Wednesday, the Rams begin seeking a 10th straight CVC title under Madec when they host Merced at 7 p.m. Should they achieve that goal, it will be the 15th straight conference hoop title for FCC breaking Skyline's NorCal mark of 14, all under Pete Pontacq."
