The Dominican University men's basketball team earned a key Pac West Conference victory on Saturday night by beating Notre Dame de Namur University 60-49.The victory gave Dominican (10-8, 6-3) a season sweep and tie-breaking advantage against NDNU (5-12, 4-5) when it comes time to advance to the PacWest Championships March 7—9 at Azusa Pacific University.
Myles Carrillo had 14 points to pace the Penguins. It was only the second time in Carrillo's 69-game career he has led the team in scoring.
"We were in a rhythm early but they got us a little bit off balance," Dominican coach Booker T. Harris said. "Myles really looked for his shot in the second half and once he got going other guys started looking for him also."
