WVC too much for Seahawks 68-57......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks (14-7, 5-1) saw their 19 game Coast Conference South winning streak come to an end tonight at the hands of West Valley College (14-8, 5-1) 68-57 in Aptos. The loss snaps the Seahawks current six-game winning streak and now after the first round of Conference play the Seahawks find themselves in a first place tie with WVC at 5-1.
The first half was a three point shooting clinic by WVC's Chris Murry. He connected on six first half three-point baskets. Cabrillo was down at the half 35-27.
In the second half, Cabrillo couldn't get themselves on track and continued to struggle. WVC extended their lead to as many 11 with 11:00 to go. Slowly the Seahawks began to get some good looks at the basket and cut the lead to 2 at 48-46 5:04 to play. It was all WVC after that as they out played and out-hustled Cabrillo down the stretch to hold on for the win.
Phoenix Bills lead the Seahawks in scoring with 12 points. Colin Gruber and Dalton Noble each had 10 each.
