Brown honored for academic achievement

From Missouri athletics:
Coming off one of the top academic semesters in program history, three Missouri Basketball players were named to the 2013 Southeastern Conference Winter Honor Roll on Tuesday.

Laurence Bowers, Jabari Brown and Danny Feldmann were each honored by the league office for their academic efforts over the past year and all three played important roles during Missouri's 23-11 campaign, which culminated with a fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament...

...Brown, a sophomore in Sport Venue Management, was one of the SEC's top newcomers this year and led Missouri during league play with 14.6 points per game. The Oakland, Calif., native finished second on the team with 32.7 minutes a contest and made 23 starts in 24 games played after joining the team midseason. The 6-foot-5 guard ranked among SEC leaders in scoring (No. 7) and three-point makes (2.3 per game) in 18 league games and topped 20 points five times, with each of those efforts coming in conference games. His top scoring effort was 23 points in wins against South Carolina and Arkansas and he also scored 22 points in the SEC opener vs. Alabama...

...The honors come after Missouri Basketball was recognized with achieving a 3.06 team grade-point average during the Fall Semester.
