What a welcome to DI basketball

Former Berkeley High and Diablo Valley College wing Khufu Najee just finished up at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, having signed back in November with IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis), a member of the Summit league.

It just happens IUPUI is tripping this summer. No, not to beautiful British Columbia or south of our southern border.

As the tour description goes:
"The IUPUI basketball team will be making a 10-trip to Italy later this summer, playing three games against international competition in mid-August. The trip, coordinated by Sports Tours International, will run from Aug. 9-18 and include stops in Milan, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Rome and Vatican City.

As part of the cultural aspect of the trip, the travel party will take part in a guided tour of Venice early on and later take a midweek guided tour of Florence, capped by a visit to the Accademia Gallery. The team is also slated for a bike tour and sightseeing in Lucca and a trip to the Colosseum and Squares of Rome. Among the final stops on the trip is a tour of Vatican City and Vatican Museum on on the team's final evening in Italy."
I volunteer to carry the team bags.
