A Yuba College transfer update

Yuba College has a long history of getting guys to the next level and a number are also performing well in the professional ranks abroad so here's catching up on a number of former 49ers:

* Julian (Inderkum High) Scott is a 6-foot-8, 240 pound starting senior forward/center on the Adams State squad, a team that participated in the DII playoffs last season. He just posted a 27 point/11 rebound double-double last night against UNLV.

* Caleb (El Camino High) Johnson stands 6-foot-9 and is also a senior but at UMKC -- University of Missouri Kansas City. Johnson enjoyed eight points and five rebounds in the exhibition opener for the Roos.

* Tyler (Yuba City High) Fry is yet another senior and at Holy Names in Oakland and the 6-foot-3 backcourter earned a spot on the Pacific West Conference Honorable Mention list for his play last season.

* Solomon (Capital Christian High/Biola University) Mercado became the first player in the Philippine Basketball Association to lead in both scoring and assists in the same season and did this standing 6-foot-1.

* Zach (Cordova High/Bradley) Andrews is playing in Japan -- here's an October 27, 2013 article on the 6-foot-8 frontcourter. Who can ever forget this from his 49er days:

* Another air climber (44 inch vertical), 6-foot-4 Lawrence (Wheatland High/Bradley) Wright, is playing in Finland.
